Ice Day!

Notice, Austin is the only gray area. Which means "Winter Weather Adivsory". I don't have school till' 10:55. Ahh sleeping in on a Wednesday is a nice thing. I hope this happens again tommorow. Plus we don't have to make it up on "Good Friday". Now I have to go get my cup of hot-chocolate! *YUMMY*

Cross my fingers!

There is a chance we will have a late start tommorow. SLEEPING IN SOUNDS AMAZING RIGHT NOW! There is supposed to be a big freeze tonight, but we aren't sure if it will be severe enough to last till' the morning. I'm crossing my fingers it will. Plus if it's a late start (10:00) then we won't have to make it up on "Good Friday!" Lets see if dreams do come true...

Rain!

This is a picture of rain if you can't tell:Monday morning in Austin, Texas is normally sunny but still cold. But this Monday was something else. Every morning I walk outside to plan my outfit and feel how cold. Yesterday there was that amazing smell that I LOVE of pine trees and a new fallen rain. The fog was hanging low along the roads and was wrapped around the light posts. I inhaled that scent for a long time, until it didn't smell as good anymore. After school it was exactly the same. And this morning, RAIN! It hasn't rained in Austin for at least 2 months. Barely any rain, but a quater of a millimeter of an inch still counts for something right?

New Blog

I finally got a new blog background. I think since it has the flowers is is still "Pots Pans Pans Petals-ish" I'm pretty sure I like it! The one thing I hate about it is that the nav-bar isn't there on the top and I'm not sure why. So if i want to sign into my blog I have to go to Cassie's first then to mine:) Weird huh? What do you think?

Guitar

I have always dreamed of being able to sit down, grab the acoustic guitar, and play along to Taylor Swift with all my friends and be like "Oh ya it's so easy! I can play any song you can think of!". (Haven't we all?)

About 3 weeks ago I walked into Luke's room and was just messing around with his electric guitar. Then I decided I should give guitar a chance. Plus it didn't seem that hard either. So I turned on the amp, and taught myself the first chord. So lets say it was D. I would count which string it was that my finger had to be on, then write it down. I thought that was it to guitar and it was sooo easy. Luke was really confused. He kept saying " Wait Dar, let me explain the right way to do it!" But I thought I had the whole concept down perfectly. My Mom said I could start guitar lessons with the same guy Luke takes them from. So I decided to give it a try! The next Thursday I realized what guitar is really all about. You have to memorize these chords and your fingers are numbered, keeping a good tempo, the list go's on and on. My guitar teacher is going pretty fast with me so he already gave me the chords to "Our Song" and he said I can try it out if I want. But playing a musical instrument is a LOT harder than I imagined. It can be a little frustrating, but since I don't have a musical talent with my singing voice, I would like to have a different kind of musical talent. Can any of you play an instrument??

Glass Jar Top

Allie was filling this big jar with all those conversation hearts for a cute Valentines decoration on this little nook in our house today. (BTW this jar is very big and it has a glass top.) I was bored so i put it on my head and it got stuck, which is OK because then it lead to this funny pictures and they are perfect for a blog post. Don't I look great?? Please ignore the coldsore on my face if you are wondering. I really, really dislike them. But I'm working on not being so annoyed with the ANNOYING coldsores I can't do anything about!

My Cute Necklace

OK, if you are ever looking for a good and, might I add, not too expensive present... go to this link: http://www.homestudio.etsy.com/! They have these adorable necklaces! (Mine is in the picture to the left.) Allie and my Mom got them too, and will be posting about their's soon so I won't ruin the fun for them. But seriously, they are soo cute and not too big or too small!

Where is my phone?

My beautiful phone. I Love it! But I tend to ask myself quite iften, "Where is my phone?" I know Allie's comment in this is going to be "ya Dar, you never actually USE your phone!" But I DO! I just "misplace" it every once in awhile. Also, i don't text people in front of my family because I don't think it is polite. Thank you very much! So there you have it, my phone situation.

Sparklers and an Odd Camera

Don't we all love it when we take a picture and it ends upa ll fuzzy and blurry? Just kidding! But it looks like there are arrows of fire pointing at Luke's head. Sorry Luke:) I Love sparklers though... even though I always think they are going to burn my hand off when they get closer.








I Love this pic because it looks like there are three of me and Allie and like two of luke. and like we are holding a bomb or something in the middle:)

Its funny how it looks like Maddie is just running full force at us with her little flame and Luke and Allie are concetrating on starting a flame! These sparklers were pretty cheap, so they were really hard to lite but it's OK!
















Again, Maddie is in the background just skipping along, I'm trying to lite Allie's sparkler, allie (again) is concetrating on her sparkler and Luke is like "Come on I want some action here!"



Well, that was our sparkler and an odd camera experience.

Double Checking

On my post where I answered all of my questions then I tagged anyonew who wanted to be tagged Cass left a great comment:) She said, "I love reading your blog, seriously your posts are so fun to read!!" And i think I know one of the reasons why. It's called proofreading. And I never do it. (Unless I'm in QUEST writing a big paper or something.) I type up my post, put in a picture and post it. Then I read it. I think it has more of me in it. And I think that's why Cass likes my blog. Because somethings I say are sooo weird and random, but thats what makes it interesting! So before you post something on your blog, DON'T stop and re-read it again. It sounds a lot better.

Amber and Kara

These girls Amber and Kara (sisters both going to college in Utah) come every break. Our Mom's are great friends and their family is really awesome. Amber and Kara are both 18 or 19 and whenever they come Allie, Maddie, and I have them "babysit" us. So they came this break and we all just started painting random things, and then we started taking pictures. So Kara and Amber were taking a picture together and Kara painted on Amber's face. So then it started this whole fight with the paint. We went CRAZY just take a look yourself!

You can kind of see Allie and Maddie's paint jobs in this one, use your imagination though!

Making me Happy

So right now I'm sitting at my mom's desk typing this post. And these pigeons are right outside the window, and they just kind of made me happier for today. There are a lot of little random things in nature that I look at and they just make me happy! So whenever your feeling a little crabby, just remember Darcy's weird and random post about pigeons and maybe you'll feel better.

Sorry I know the picture isn't very good, but I had to take it through a window or else they'd fly away and my post wouldn't be very good anymore.
