This is the burn spot from the lamp burning the drawer above it!This one shows how it almost burnt all the way through the drawer, which would have caused th
There is the cabinet that it all happened in!

Not really by popular vote, just one request. But that's OK! I am going to tell in full detail how my girl blankie caught on fire. (If you are very confused read the post before this one.) Allie and I were at the age where playing "House" or "Mommy" was really fun for us. So one morning we decided to turn my room into a full on kitchen for our "families". We made little curtains for the windows, made a table, and now we wanted to make an "oven" to make some "bacon". We took the lamp (with OUT the lampshade) and put it in the cabinet. We slammed it shut, and behold... LIGHT! It was really bright and actually looked like an oven... but we thought it was to bright. So Allie grabbed my Girl-Blankie and stuck her onto the lamp. BTW the blanket is just laying over the burning light bulb with OUT a lamp shade. Our mom called us downstairs for popcorn I think and we left our "oven" going. When we got back our room actually smelled like bacon! I guess from the fire. Allie looked in the smoke-filled cubby-door-thing and said "Nope, it's not on fire!" Then I went and looked, and sure enough, fire. Right on Girl-Blankie. My parents came upstairs and beat the fire out. My girl-blankie had a smoldering black hole in it. I was crying soooo hard and Allie felt sooooo bad because technically it was her idea but I don't blame her. But......... after a little help from Grandma Karen, she looked good as new! And there is the longest post I've ever made!
